The Brickhouse About Us

The Brickhouse Supperclub and Events Venue is a hidden gem in the heart of Shoreditch. Located in the historic Old Truman Brewery tucked away on the world famous Brick Lane, (housed on the original site of the Old Brick Lane Music Hall), providing a discreet sanctuary from the numerous hectic bars and restaurants in the area. The Brickhouse recaptures the original spirit of the 1930′s supper clubs and allure of the speakeasies whilst retaining a modern and fresh contemporary appeal…

We have a modern garden terrace with speakers, for those who are interested in an outdoor area – with a rain cover to suit our wonderful British climate!

The venue (and each floor of the venue) is available for private hire at any time subject to a minimum spend – see our Events page for more details.

In addition to our live performances, we showcase the works of local artists. We are currently displaying the wonderful works of Bindi Harris and Pashet. Pashet’s current work is the Heavens Muse Collection, a celebration of the female nude. A combination of mixed media including photography, digital art and overlays of paint on canvas. To view artwork and enquire about commissions www.pashet.com. We will be exhibiting other brilliant artists throughout the coming year.

London based artist, Louise Greenfield, creates unique sculptural works. Wall based works, born from a fascination with the imaginary existence between the animate and the fossilized, fuse these subjects exuding a feast for the senses. An alluring, rich array of feathers, combined with hard drawn stainless steel, resin, wood or acrylic, creates an intriguing and somewhat surreal contrast between a designed structural form and a free, lively spontaneity.

Tactile, yet untouchable, sometimes verging on living, others statuesque, formal or fragile, they allude to a further depth than is apparent at first glance. The unusual use of these familiar materials, is perhaps key to what gives the work a distinctly, curious magnetism. Previously having worked within the jewellery field, for several high profile figures including Vivienne Westwood and Wendy Ramshaw, doing work for catwalk as well as large scale installation projects, her sculptures take on a fantastical, illusory air but always maintain the same innate precision to detail and quality of finish.
