Empress Stah is appearing exclusively at The Brickhouse throughout June with nightly performances of ‘A GOLD STAR’ – Literally gilded head to toe in Gold Glitter & ‘LOVE TO LOVE YOU’ – a sensual, aerial homage to disco.
Stah’s work as a ‘Neo Burlesque’ starlet picks up where tassel twirling and fan dancing leaves off. Not for the faint hearted, ‘neo’ or ‘new’ burlesque, is about taking the art form and making it relevant for the 21st century. There is no retro styling here, neo burlesque confronts contemporary life in a way that is at times humorous, blasphemous, pornographic, light hearted, challenging, camp, politically incorrect and above all entertaining.
During her glittering 10 year career, Stah has graced stages from London to New York, Tokyo, Moscow and Sydney performing alongside big names such as Cirque Du Soliel and Dita Von Teese, with clients including Smirnoff, Harvey Nichols and Damien Hirst while maintaining her connection to the underground by touring with notorious London clubs, Torture Garden and Lost Vagueness.
